The Skaha Bluffs climbing area is located south of downtown on a hill above Lake Skaha in Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park. With over 1200 documented routes, it is the second most popular climbing area in British Columbia, after the Squamish Smoke Bluffs. It is served by Penticton Airport, a regional airport located 1.8 nautical miles (3.3 km; 2.1 miles) southwest of downtown. In 2018, a $6 million facility upgrade was launched to expand the departure and arrival lounge and increase passenger flow control capacity. Although the airport has in the past offered flights to several destinations,, the airport currently offers flights to Vancouver International Airport offered by Air Canada Express; These services are offered three to four times a day, except on Sundays, if two flights are available. .
